Best Bridal Beauty Trends for 2012
The “Undone” Updo
This trend towards soft, natural “undone” hair started a few years ago but continues to be a hot trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. The goal of this messy, organic style is to have it look almost like you just pulled it up yourself. Be careful with this particular style that your hair looks beautifully messy and doesn’t cross the line into being a “hot mess” and you also want to make sure that although it looks loose, the style is secured to last all day long!
All Down Hairstyles
Just a few years ago, we rarely had brides ask us for all down hairstyles, now, I would say roughly one quarter of our brides want to wear their hair all down with either romantic curls or waves. If you want to wear your hair all down, make sure to take into consideration your hair type and how well this type of style will stay. In order to get beautiful, luxurious curls that stay all day, you may want to consider wearing “day-of” clip in hair extensions.
Braids
Braids evoke a carefree, romantic feel and this year, we see braids incorporated into every type of style. From sleek updos to all down and half up hairstyles and braids all by themselves. The hottest trend in braids right now is the loose, organic side bride. This look is beautifully romantic and is perfect for a garden, bohemian or beach wedding.
Vintage Inspiration
Vintage inspiration is showing up all over bridal beauty including vintage inspired hair, makeup and/or accessories. The key when incorporating a vintage vibe into your wedding style is to not go overboard. Unless your goal is to create a authentic vintage “themed” wedding, keep your vintage inspiration to no more than two elements such as dress and makeup OR accessories and hair.
Bohemian Beauty
Another type of “vintage inspired” look, this one inspired by the hippie movement of the 1970s. With more and more brides adopting more natural “eco” or “green” and effortless styles, this style continues to go more and more mainstream and trendy. Imagine long flow-y dresses, barefoot brides and natural, earthy hair and makeup.
